Keynote Speaker: Simon Gibson
Security Architect, Gigamon
Mr. Gibson is a Fellow Security Architect at Gigamon. He provides security strategy and technology roadmap direction for Gigamon products that secure physical and virtual network traffic. Mr. Gibson has been working on Internet infrastructure for nearly 20 years. From small ISP¹s, to developing streaming media technology at AOL/Time Warner and working on hardware accelerated appliances with Extreme Networks for WinAmp/Shoutcast. Previously, Mr. Gibson worked as a Systems Architect at Verisign. Prior to Gigamon Mr. Gibson led the Information Security Group at Bloomberg LP. in New York and was their CISO from 2008 to 2013.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Outline and goals
- Encouraging local CIOs to give back to the south Florida tech community through scholarships to deserving high school students who will pursue a tech education at a Florida school
Achievements
- Launched the first scholarship program with Miami/Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) this year and awarded three scholarships at the 9th Annual, 2015 State of the CIO event
- We’re confirmed for another year with the MDCPS program.
- Administer funds through the MDCPS 501(c)(3)
Planned Activities
- Expand scholarships to students in Broward and Palm Beach Schools
- Use MDCPS model in Broward and PB Schools to administer funds
- Expand the program up to nine scholarships in 2017 across the three counties
- Involve South Florida Higher Education schools in the Scholarship promotion and process
Joe Robens – Team Lead, Scholarships
Joe is a long time member of the Council and an entrepreneurial sales professional whose dedication and persistence has brought the scholarship program to life. Joe’s leadership has already awarded three young students with scholarships and he is aiming to present a total of 9 scholarships across the 3 school districts.
