The CIO Council of South Florida is not just about advancing current technology leaders; it’s deeply invested in nurturing the next wave of tech innovators. Through its commendable scholarship program, the Council has been empowering high-achieving high school students passionate about pursuing STEM-related education in Florida schools. This initiative is a testament to the Council’s commitment to fostering the growth and development of the South Florida tech community.
To date, this endeavor has seen remarkable achievements, with 94 scholarships awarded in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS), Palm Beach County Public Schools (PBCPS), and Broward County Public Schools (BCPS), in association with the Broward Education Foundation. This partnership has been crucial in supporting young tech talents and shaping their future. The program confirms its ongoing association with these schools, offering four scholarships annually for each district, totaling twelve each year.
Looking ahead, the Council plans to expand its reach and impact. Ambitious goals are set for future scholarships across the three South Florida School Districts. The involvement of South Florida Higher Education institutions in the scholarship promotion and selection process is another strategic move, aiming to create a cohesive approach to nurturing tech talent.
