Alex Romillo is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Health Choice Network, Inc. (HCN) and Chief Operating Officer for both Medicare Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). He oversees the strategic direction of the Florida-based, non-profit Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN). With associates across the United States and providing services in 23 States and territories, HCN was the first funded HCCN and today is one of the largest safety-net provider networks in the U.S. and its territories, leading operational efficiencies for health centers, clinical innovations for clinicians, technology solutions, value-based managed care initiatives, and member-focused opportunities supporting over 1,132 care delivery sites, and serving over 7.9 million patient visits.

Alex joined the Health Information Technology Trade in 1992, using his expertise and leadership strategies to implement cost-effective and leading-edge technology solutions to reach the most vulnerable patient populations. He is passionate and committed to community health, focusing on primary care integrated models supporting mental well-being, oral health, school-based health, and homeless health integration.

Dr. Priscilla (Fabregas) Torres is a highly accomplished HR executive with over 20 years of diverse experience spanning healthcare, nonprofit, and automotive sectors. Currently serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Health Choice Network, Inc., Dr. Torres oversees operations encompassing CHRO responsibilities, talent management and development, driving organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.

With a Doctorate’s Degree in Organizational Leadership, a Master’s degree in I/O Psychology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Dr. Torres combines academic rigor with practical expertise to lead with distinction.As a strategic leader, Dr. Torres embodies a servant leadership approach, fostering collaboration and continuous growth within teams. Her belief in empowering employees to achieve their full potential serves as the cornerstone of her leadership philosophy.

Beyond her professional role, Dr. Torres is deeply engaged in giving back to the HR community through volunteerism and collaboration. As the President of the HR Association of Broward County, she leads a dynamic organization supporting over 400 HR professionals. Dr. Torres’s commitment to community extends to board positions and advisory roles with organizations such as HOPE South Florida, Inc., Florida International University School of Public Health, University of Miami School of Public Health, and the American Heart Association.

Dr. Torres also shares her expertise as an Adjunct Faculty Professor at Broward College and is a certified John Maxwell professional speaker, coach, and trainer. Her passion for communication and development is evident through her engaging presentations at local universities, seminars, workshops, speaking engagements, conferences, and business podcasts.

Jean Hill

Managing Director @ Alvarez & Marsal

Bio

Jean Hill is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Corporate Performance Improvement in Miami, and is also the National Solution Leader for CPI’s Digital and Technology Services practice. She specializes in leading initiatives that re-imagine enterprise strategy and leverage technology to drive transformative change and results.
With more than 25 years of experience, Ms. Hill has provided leadership for complex engagements, delivering actionable plans to ignite change, address leadership gaps and drive value. She has worked across multiple business contexts including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), enterprise transformations and periods of rapid growth.

Currently at A&M, Ms. Hill is working with a $30 billion financial services company to establish new capabilities in an effective and compliant manner, including a multi-business line transformation to improve overall regulatory compliance. She also recently developed and implemented a strategy for a major healthcare provider that entailed a new sourcing model, revamping their technology offerings and restructuring their technology organization that led to $400 million in savings.

Ms. Hill earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a J.D. from Fordham University. She is admitted to the New York Bar. She is an active Cornell alum and serves on the Cornell Council, the President’s Council of Cornell Women and the Advisory Board for the Cornell undergraduate business program. Ms. Hill also sits on the Board of Directors for Per Scholas, a workforce development non-profit. She is a passionate advocate for diversity in the workplace and frequently speaks and leads panel discussions at diversity forums and events.

Robert Grillo

Vice President and CIO @ Florida International University

Bio

Mr. Robert Grillo has more than 20 years of leadership experience in information technology services, including executive management, strategic consulting, and project management. Mr. Grillo took office as the Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at Florida International University on June 2011. In this position, Mr. Grillo leads a division of more than 250 information technology professionals.

Prior to his appointment as Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, Mr. Grillo was the Assistant Vice President for the Division of Information Technology. Mr. Grillo began his career in FIU in 2003 when he was hired to manage and lead the enterprise-wide Financial Management Systems implementation and subsequently in 2004, became responsible for implementing the Student Administration system. Prior to coming to FIU, Mr. Grillo led the consulting division for PeopleSoft Latin America and the Caribbean region and also worked for Andersen Consulting LLP (currently known as Accenture) as a senior consultant for Fortune 500 companies.

Mr. Grillo is the 2013 winner of the Education category of the South Florida Digital Alliance Awards. In 2014, under Robert’s leadership, the Division was awarded the Center for Digital Government’s Cybersecurity Leadership and Innovation Award in the Education Category. He has been featured in Hispanic Executive for his work with Business Intelligence and mobile technologies. In 2017, he was awarded the South Florida Business Journal’s Technology Awards CIO Finalist in the medium company category. This program honors chief information officers who lead their organizations in delivering business value and innovative use of IT in the private and public company sector. He was also named the 2017 CIO Honoree for Miami Dade by the South Florida Business & Wealth Magazine’s Apogee Awards. The Apogee Awards is a program that recognizes distinguished leaders who hold positions in the C-Suite of companies. Additionally in 2017 and most recently in 2018, he was recognized by the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) as the top 100 most influential and notable Hispanic Professionals in the Information Technology Industry.

Prior to his current role, Ivaylo was pivotal in shaping Concord’s technological and innovative landscape as a Chief Technology Officer, where he led Global Delivery, Innovation, and R&D initiatives. His tenure at Concord has been marked by progressive leadership roles, a career that has allowed him to significantly contribute to the company’s growth and strategic direction.

Ivaylo holds a dual Computer Science and Management degree, and his professional journey is underpinned by a solid foundation in Data, Analytics, and Software Product Development. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found and scale several technology ventures in Canada, Europe, and the United States, showcasing his ability to drive innovation and business growth. The CIO Council of South Florida is excited to present the 18th Annual State of the CIO on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, Pembroke Pines

The State of the CIO is the premier event for technology leaders in South Florida, bringing together over 300 top CIOs and senior IT leaders from across the region. This event is a unique opportunity for attendees to discuss, learn, and network with their peers in the industry.

The conference features a CIO-Only Executive Breakfast, a keynote address, and a panel discussion, all tailored to the needs of CIOs and Executive IT leaders. The conference will cover the latest trends and topics in technology, and provide valuable insights and strategies for attendees to take back to their organizations.

In addition to learning and networking opportunities, the State of the CIO also serves as a platform to support the next generation of technology leaders. The CIO Council will award the Miami-Dade County Public Schools scholarship winners at the event, supporting them in their pursuit of STEM careers.
